Happy International Women's Day
International Women’s Day began in 1911 as a call for equality, and today, we honor not just the progress made but the everyday strength, kindness, and wisdom of women everywhere.

At Modern Prairie, we are endlessly inspired by the grace, support, and friendships blossoming in this beautiful community. You remind us daily that when women lift each other up, incredible things happen.

Today, we invite you to celebrate with us—drop a tribute in the comments to the woman who has shaped your life the most. A mother, a sister, a mentor, a friend—who inspires you every day?
We can't wait to read each and every tribute, and we'll be celebrating these wonderful women with you!
Let’s fill this space with love and gratitude. 💜✨

Certainly the matriarchs of my family have had an incredible impact on me – showing me life basics as well as strength, grit, and grace. But one of the women who has impacted my life since adulthood taught me a skill that has become a lifeline for me. Evelyn taught me to knit – a skill that has helped me quiet my anxious mind, put into action my desire to help others, sparked a new creativity in me, helped me launch a new career path, and even provided community for me in the multiple moves (to different states) I have made since she taught me. She also taught me a lot about how to handle adversity, how to be an advocate for my children, and how to embrace change. I am ever grateful to her. She resides in every knitted object I make, because I never fail to bless her for introducing me and encouraging me into this “hobby” which is a life skill (that amplifies other life skills)!
Happy Day to all the Warriors women. May The Lord always bless our lives. Greetings from Peru
I want to tribute my best friend Kathleen Crawley-Morton since age 4 (as far back as I can remember being able to form a true friendship). She has ridden the waves of the journey with me, unconditionally, deep and true, regardless. She and I believe in the best parts of each other and love deeply, our frailties. It is something in which I am truly thankful as life can be beautiful and cruel, stunning and frightening. To know, that she will stand right by me and I her, just because we do…this cosmic bond. I love you my best friend.
